An interesting ban reason has emerged for CS2, one of the most played online FPS games in the world. According to this, the developer Valve will ban players using keyboards with SOCD functionality. So, what is SOCD? Why doesn’t Valve want these keyboards in the game? Here are the details…

A new controversy has emerged in the world of Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). The game’s developer, Valve, has announced that it will ban players who use certain keyboard features. The reason behind this decision is to maintain game balance and prevent unfair advantages gained by players.

Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions (SOCD) is a technology that allows players to execute multiple movement commands at the same time by pressing a single key. The feature, known for automating the ‘counter-strafe’ maneuver, which quickly changes direction, has been controversial and is effectively banned by Valve.

New Update for CS2: The Legendary Dust_2 Tactic is Now History!

A new update has been released for the popular FPS game CS2. With this update, the legendary Dust_2 tactic is becoming a thing of the past.

Last month, Razer introduced the SOCD feature named ‘Snap Tap’ in its Huntsman V3 Pro keyboard series. Shortly after, Wooting also offered a similar technology called ‘Snappy Tappy’. However, Valve has now announced that these features are banned in CS2.

Valve stated:

“Recently, some hardware features have blurred the line between manual input and automation. As a result, we decided to draw a clear line on what is acceptable in Counter-Strike. We will no longer allow any applications that automate fundamental skills (through scripting or hardware).”

If you have a keyboard with SOCD support, you need to avoid using this feature.
